Description
Wrap-around services
Wrap-around services are supports meant to help people overcome barriers to employment. Housing instability, lack of childcare, and unreliable transportation are a few examples. We know that supporting job seekers during training is key to their success. Wrap-around services can take many forms, like:
- Childcare reimbursement
- Transportation supports
- Paid training
- Accessibly located training partners
- Internships
- Mentorship
These wrap-around services help job seekers focus less on the challenges they may face. They allow individuals to focus more on the steps needed to reach their career goals.
What we’re doing
We include funding dedicated to wrap-around services in every program we fund and partner on. In green careers, there is demand for:
- Career readiness training
- Support services for tools
- Transportation
- Internship wages
We also work to create safe and accessible places for learning and training by:
- Choosing training locations within our communities
- Partnering with local community organizations that:
- Are trusted by community
- Are from the communities they work in
- Have the skills and expertise to help participants succeed
